2024-2025 Learn to Play Hockey Registration

Welcome

TO THE LEARN TO PLAY HOCKEY REGISTRATION

Program Details:

Hockey 1, the objective is to further teach the basics of ice skating and the fundamentals of hockey.  Skaters are introduced to the basic skills that are necessary to play the game in a way that is engaging and fun.  It is essential for players to feel comfortable on the ice and to know how to properly execute a stride, recover to the hockey position, maintain knee bend, and to facilitate proper use of their hockey stick, along with their inside and outside edges.  Players learn the skills that will allow them to excel and advance to the next level of Learn to Play Hockey - level 2.

Ages: Youth 4 to 14 years (2010-2020 birth years)

Requirements:  Skater must have completed at least one 6-week series of Learn to Skate classes or be able to get up on their own and march on the ice without a skate helper.

Hockey 2, once a player has learned the fundamentals of hockey and skating, the objective is to prepare them for real game play!  Players compete and develop with others that have the same experience.  Our Hockey 2 program is modeled after the American Development Model and encourages competition, cooperation, and fun through a variety of engaging drills and games.
