2022-2023 Learn to Play - Hockey 1 Registration




Program Details:

In this program, players are introduced to the basic skills that are necessary to play the game in a way that is engaging and fun. The objective of Hockey 1 is to teach beginners the basics of ice skating. Prior to moving into Hockey 2 - Learn to Play, it is essential for skaters to feel comfortable on the ice and to know how to properly execute a stride, recover to the hockey position, maintain knee bend, and to facilitate proper use of their hockey stick, along with their inside and outside edges. Players learn the skills that will allow them to excel in the next level Hockey 2 - Learn To Play 

Ages: Youth 4 to 12 years (2010-2018 birth years)

Requirements: Skater must be able to get up on their own and march on the ice without a skate helper or have completed at least one 6-week learn to skate course to register. Full gear required.

Cost: $210 for a 6 week program 

USA Hockey Membership required ($61 fee waived for players age 6 & under)

Dates: January 8th - February 12th, 2023*

Class Time: 11:30am - 12:30pm on Sundays

Dates: February 19th - March 26th, 2023*

Class Time: 11:30am - 12:30pm on Sundays

USA Hockey Requirement

Each Player must register first with USA Hockey and then return to this Registration Session to signup for the 2022-2023 Season. USA Hockey is the governing body for the sport of Ice Hockey in the United States. Membership is an annual requirement to participate and provides world-class insurance coverage among other benefits and is free for players ages 6 and younger (annual fee is $61.00 for those 7 and older).


USA Hockey provides the foundation for the sport of ice hockey in America; helps young people become leaders, even Olympic heroes; and connects the game at every level while promoting a lifelong love of the sport.

All members of USA Hockey receive countless benefits from the organization’s strong partner relationships with key groups, including the National Hockey League, United States Olympic Committee and International Ice Hockey Federation.

Step 1:  CLICK HERE to go to USA Hockey Registration and register your player(s). Be sure to PRINT and SAVE their confirmation code(s). Remember to register EACH of your players with USA Hockey. Each player must have their own unique USA Hockey confirmation number.


Step 2:  Return to this registration and proceed. Later in this registration session you will need to enter the USA Hockey Confirmation Code that you received in Step 1.


Step 3: Create an Account with SportsEngine by clicking "Create An Account" below. This will ask you for some basic information and send you an email to verify your account. Once you open the email and press "Activate my Account," it will take you to the next step of the registration process for Learn to Play. If you already have a SportsEngine account, click "Sign In" below and continue with the registration.
